Old Dayz takes silver

By Gary Krewer

For the second year in a row, ASAP Garage Door Repair sponsored a softball team named OLD DAYZ to play in the 6 County Senior Softball Tournament, hosted by the Elk Grove Park District. OLD DAYZ won the silver medal by winning two out of three games played on July 17. Frank Yacono pitched OLD DAYZ to two wins. Frank’s first win was a 4-0 pitching gem, giving up only 5 hits. Frank was supported by great defense. Game #2 saw a few more hits from the opponents, but a big 5 run inning sealed the win for a 7-5 victory. In the final game of the morning, OLD DAYZ lost 8-5. OLD DAYZ put up 4 runs in it’s final at bat, falling short of a complete comeback to a team from the Elk Grove Village League.
