Hoping for a strike!

Playing in their lane

By Christine Such

Grandpa, Grandma, & Me (GG & Me) Charter Club members celebrated Grandparent’s Day on September 8 at GLO-BOWL in Marengo. It was a day of inclusivity and togetherness as grandparents, grandkids, and families came together to celebrate the occasion by throwing a few strikes. The lights were turned off at a point during the game, accompanied by shouts of surprise and the lanes glowed. The excitement was contagious as two-year-olds and grandparents used their skills to knock the pins down.

Glo Bowl invites Sun City residents to another fun event and bowl with a PBA Bowler on September 27. It’s a PRO-Am Handicap no-tap tournament. Entry fee before the day of the event is $40. Residents will bowl three games with three different PBA bowlers — knowing that some of the proceeds will be donated to Veteran’s Link, a 501(C)(3) organization will make your participation even more meaningful. Register in-person at GLO-BOWL located at 101 Franks Road in Marengo.
