It’s that time of year again to make improvements and updates on the Village’s infrastructure. Here is a list of just some of the projects taking place in Huntley this summer:
- Work continues on updating the Wastewater Treatment Facilitiesin response to recent regulatory mandates from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA).
- The 2018 Street Improvement Program– this year, streets in the Huntley Meadows subdivision will be improved.
- The Sidewalk and Curb Replacement programallows the Village to concentrate on specific areas throughout the Village not targeted for repair through resident service requests and/or the Street Program. This year the program will consist of sidewalk removal and replacement at various locations along Woodstock Street.
- Pedestrian Warning Beacon Modifications at Haligus Road and Scott Drive/Marlowe Middle School Access Drive – These improvements will provide crash countermeasures targeting the predominant crash types experienced at the intersection by improving driver awareness during pedestrian crossings. Work is anticipated to start on or about June 11th and be completed in 30 days.
- Sewer Televising, Jetting and Lining– allows the Village to repair sewers more cost effectively with minimal disruption to traffic. The 2018 program will consist of televising, jetting and lining all the sanitary sewers on Janice Drive, Grove Street and Martin Drive. As has been done in previous years, residents and businesses in the project areas will be notified prior to start of work.
