Yes, Huntley High School has a Medical Academy. We have over 20 classes the students can take while they are in high school that have a medical theme. We also require students to do volunteer hours and job shadows. However, with this pandemic we have had to do some creative out of the box thinking since our students cannot get into healthcare facilities right now. We are looking for volunteers that would be willing to be pen pals. I want my students to work on their penmanship, communication, and conversation skills. We are having our students write generic letters to a stranger they have never met. I need someone to be willing to read a letter and then write back to the student. I (Renae St.Clair) will send you the students letter along with a self-addressed stamped envelope for your reply which will come back to me, at Huntley High School, and then I will get it to the student. The student will then write back and you have become pen pals.
