Charter clubs make their post-lockdown debut

By David Goode

Not unlike honey bees returning to the flowers and fauna, the Sun City charter clubs have returned to active life.

Joe Quinn, a member of the Woodchucks, commented that “there were at least 90 members at the Woodchucks meeting on June second.” Activities at the Millgrove Workshop are expected to increase.

“The concert band is rehearsing for the Golf Cart parade concert” reported Jim Vinton, the band’s Treasurer. The concert will be held on June 26 at the Fountain View amphitheater.

Ron Martin of the Golf Charter Club has announced a series of events through the end of the season.

The infield at Eakins Field has been dragged and the outfield manicured as the summer’s softball leagues take the field.

The Theatre Company has announced three performances of “Love Letters” on July 14–16.

Tickets will go on sale at the end of June.

“The Computer Club lab is now open on Monday and Thursday mornings from 9 a.m to noon” announced club President, Shelly Goldberg. The club’s computers, printers and scanners are available on a first come basis. One-on-one tech support will resume with the Covid restrictions are lifted.

Ralph Wehnes, Director of Instruction announced that “Free for members classes on Android and iPhone as well as other subjects are now being scheduled in the lab.”

According to Mr. Goldberg, “All Sun City residents are invited to attend the July 8th general meeting in Drendel.”

The Computer Club is now accepting membership renewal dues and new membership applications at the Computer Lab on Monday and Thursday mornings.
