Sun City residents welcomed the New Charter Club Sun City Veterans Club. The Club has had over 150 residents join. The first event hosted by the new club is a luncheon honoring WWII & Korean War Vets on Veterans Day November 11.
Once more, another Sun City Club volunteered to work together to make this event special.
Karen Czerwinski, President of the Crafting Memories Charter Club, and its members had an idea. Czerwinski said, “We wanted to add to the event and make it a day to remember, thank, and honor all Veterans.”
The club members gathered together and used their crafty skills and their artistic gifts to create beautiful cards for the Veterans attending the Luncheon on November 11.
Czerwinski said, “Initially the Veteran’s Club had about 50 members, but it grew so rapidly that we really had to get to work to make sure that everyone attending the luncheon would get a card.”
Initially, the card kits were all put together by Czerwinski. Czerwinski said, “Our theme is Patriotic cards with red, white, and blue.”
Club members finished the kits and started designing their own one-of-a-kind beautiful cards. They were determined to have each Veteran receive not only a Hand Made card, but one with a personal message inside handwritten. Working together to thank Sun City Veterans for their service.
