Ever just gotta dance? The Strutters understand.
This spring, these Sun City dancers will perform on Tuesday, June 3, and Wednesday, June 4, in Drendel Ballroom. The show, “Gotta Dance,” will feature a captivating mix of tap, ballet, and jazz routines, promising an evening of thrilling performances.
Nancy Kutska, Director of Strutters, said, “Guest performers will be joining us, performing a variety of entertaining selections. The instructors and dancers are working hard learning their dances for the performance.”
The credit for the show’s routines goes to the Sun City choreographers: Mary Wyatt, advanced ballet; Val Stroud, advanced tap and advanced jazz; Sandy Tenggren, intermediate jazz; and Cynthia Church, beginning/intermediate tap.
The Strutters, a warm and inclusive group, is made up of Sun City residents who love to dance. Currently, 56 women are participating in the classes offered. The group ranges in age from 50 to over 80. The group has been dancing and performing for 23 years, and is always welcoming new members.
Kutska said, “We welcome new dancers and invite any potential dancer to join us next fall for classes in tap, jazz, and ballet, with levels for beginner to advanced dancers. It’s a good place to try out your talents and make new friends, and it’s an excellent way to exercise both the body and the mind. We have classes every weekday. The class schedules are found in the lifestyles. The instructors all have assistants. You do not have to participate in performances.”
Tickets go on sale May 1 for $10 each and can be purchased At Prairie Lodge and Meadow View Lodge Fitness Desks only. Seating will be reserved at the time of ticket purchase. If you are interested in joining the Strutters or have any questions, please contact Nancy Kutska at 847-346-5687.
