On Saturday, July 23, Neighborhood 24 hosted their Third Annual Games Day. Despite heavy rains the previous night, over forty active, fun-loving neighbors attended and participated in a two-hour game fest playing Baggo, Frisbee Tennis, Ladder Golf, Ring Toss, Croquet, Left-Right-Center, and Water Balloon Toss.
Participants drew teammates and moved around game stations every ten minutes. Showcasing their athletic talents, they carefully logged game points on score cards. Competition was fierce, but friendly. The final event, Water Balloon Toss, provided bonus points and dampened clothing, but not spirits. Culver’s gift certificates were awarded to this year’s winning team, Dwayne Graf and Jackie Mueller.
Hungry and thirsty, the crowd eagerly marched across the street to the post-game pizza party hosted by Judith and Eric Bennett. The Bennetts graciously provided their lovely home, and Mary and Tom Galgay treated us to a yummy salad and cookies. What a delicious ending to a lively summer day!
Many thanks go to the games committee who organized the event and provided their yards and homes, namely Wendy and John Gallup, Betty and Stan Clark, Larry and Carol Tellin, and Jackie and Gordie Mueller.
Lots of laughter, and of course a little competition, make Games Day an annual Neighborhood 24 favorite.
