Baby, it’s cold outside

By Diane Naples

Baby, it’s cold out there, and many are still in need of blankets to help keep them warm.

I just got through filling 34 requests for blankets, comforters, and sheets for children and adults from the giving tree at St. Mary’s Church in Huntley. These were requests for items they would like for Christmas. No fancy toys or clothes or electronics, just a blanket.

Pioneer services for human services also received 20 blankets for children in need. I delivered to Turning Point their request for pillows and cookware. PADS needs blankets. These are everyday day items just to exist.

The need is still there, and it is great Please if you can give a BLANKET or any of the other items that are in need such as pillows, pillow cases, paper towels, toilet paper, any size cooking pan, Clorox wipes, twin sheets, towels, laundry detergent, garbage bags (all sizes. The items can be dropped off at my home. There is so much need and just a little from you will help fill some of the needs.

Diane Naples, 12950 Meadowview Ct. Unit 307. It is the condo next to Meadow View lodge. There is a container in the lobby for you to leave your donation. Leave your name and address if you would like a donation receipt.

I have also noticed how many clubs, organizations, and stores are collecting food. A thank you from me to you for caring. Being hungry and cold has to be so sad. You are making a difference by sharing what you are so fortunate to have.

A special thank you to the my family, who so generously donated money for me to purchase many of these items, the Celtic Club of Sun City who has made it possible to keep so many warm, my friends and your donations to make a difference in someone’s life.
