Move over Eleanor Rigby

By Kay Clark

HUNTLEY – Could I see a show of hands of all of you Beatle fans?

School District 158 has a surprise for you! The BritBeats will be performing at the Huntley High School Performing Art Center at 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 21. For over two hours, they will transport you back to the early 60s, when the four mop heads took the U.S. by storm. Watch how dressed in the Beatles signature suits, boots, and playing their vintage guitars, these four emulate Paul, John, George, and Ringo.

The BritBeats are a local Beatle tribute group based out of Chicago and promise to “Come Together” and “Get Back” your memories as you “Let it Be” an evening of delightful entertainment. “All you need is love” to get your “Tickets to Ride” online.

The web address is District 158.org/education foundation. Tickets are $25 plus a $5 fee, and all monies go directly to the Education Foundation to purchase computers, scholarships, and other classroom supplies. Teachers can apply for grants for classroom materials and “Get Back” reading programs.

Just drive your “Yellow Submarine” to “The Long and Winding Road,” 13719 Harmony Road, Huntley.

So here’s my invitation, “From Me to You,” to come and enjoy a walk down “Penny Lane.” It won’t be anything like a “Hard Days Night,” but should be a “Day Tripper.” Let’s all “Twist and Shout” to that British beat as “We Can Work it Out.”

I understand that there isn’t a bad seat in the house, so move over, “Eleanor Rigby.”

Do I sound like a former Beatlemaniac? Could be…

If you’d like to read more on the fab four, their address is BritBeats.com.
