As everyone knows, Huntley is growing by leaps and bounds. A census is currently being conducted where we are expected to go over the 25,000 mark. That is hard to believe when you consider Huntley had just over 5,700 people in 2000. The recent roadway improvements to route 47, including the 90 interchange has opened even more doors to business and additional home construction.
One of the most exciting additions to the community is the Centegra Hospital-Huntley, which is on-schedule to open this summer. The hospital will be a 360,000 square-foot, 128-bed, state-of-the-art facility with a full range of specialized services.
Huntley Community Radio has you covered with all things Centegra. First, we have an ongoing lecture series that is presented by one of the outstanding medical specialists associated with Centegra Health System. These lectures vary in topics from ovarian cancer, carpal tunnel, kidney stones, colon health, sports medicine and many other topics of medical interest.
These show can be heard every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2-3 p.m. on 101.5 FM and also podcasts of earlier shows are available on huntleyradio.com.
As we get closer to the summer, we will have representatives from Centegra on the air bringing all of the information to you as in unfolds. As this is only the third new hospital in Illinois in the past 33 years, there is sure to be a great deal of news and hoopla surrounding its grand opening.
