Thursday, April 14, Sun City Huntley will host its annual Spring Consumer Showcase at Prairie Lodge, located at 12880 Del Webb Blvd. in Huntley. Showcase hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Tree’s a crowd

You might not be able to see the forest for the trees, but you can see the downtown Huntley square. Last month, the Village of Huntley removed seven of the eight trees decorating the downtown area, according to Barbara Read, Village of Huntley Management Assistant.

Twenty-four members of Dawn Ellison’s family have served in military service, most of them in time of war.

They started in the Civil War and carried the tradition through the Gulf War in the 1990s. Every one of them came back. They left such a great legacy of service that Ellison and a group of friends decided to play a major role in recognizing them, and so many others like them, including those who did not came back.
