Someone you should know

A local news channel periodically has a segment called “Someone You Should Know.” In Neighborhood 21, we have that someone you should know ā€“ Midge (Dorothy) Novy. Midge calls herself an embroidery nut, but this talent has brought unusual comfort to many and a sense of gratification for her. Sewing and sewing machines have been a part of Midge’s life.

A Chocolate and Champagne Valentineā€™s Day Neighborly Celebration

My husband travels for his job, and he was out of town on Valentineā€™s Day. Being that I love to celebrate on Valentineā€™s Day and did not want to do it alone, I decided to ask friends, neighbors, and family over for a chocolate and libations Valentineā€™s Happy Hour. Granted, it was a last-minute invitation; however, I decided to do it anyway and see how the evening would unfold.

Good people doing good things

Christmas Spirit. It canā€™t be bought; it must come from the heart. I know it is the end of February, but reminiscing about the past Christmas Season gives me pause. I joined the Sunflower Garden Club because gardeners tend to be happy, generous people willing to share knowledge and time.
