We all enjoy sun-lit rooms, donât we? We build them in our homes, and in hospitals, therapy centers, and recreational centers. They help us grow plants and flowers indoors, and provide attractive spaces for family and group activities. About 18 years ago, Del Webb built a very nice solarium (literally translated as sun room) in Sun Cityâs Prairie Lodge. It had a glass ceiling, and large glass windows on three sides. It was designed as a social, eating, and meeting space for community groups and family parties and events. It also was frequently used as a small staging area for entertainment events in Drendel Ballroom.

Saturday, May 12, marks the 26th anniversary of one of Americaâs great days of giving â the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food drive.

When my children were young, I spent a lot of time in our guest bathroom. Whether it was potty training, helping to wash hands, or helping to make sure everything was tucked in and buttoned up, I spent an inordinate amount of time in that little room. In an effort to maintain my sanity while caring for not only my own children, but also nieces, nephews and neighborâs kids, I promised myself that when the days of caring for little ones had passed, I was going to scrub grout between the bright pink tiles that covered the floor.

Their trip began in Barcelona (part 1 of their story), after which they traveled to Madrid then on to Granada. After spending time in Granada, Grant and Linda (N-24)left for the southern coast of Spain. One benefit of taking a touring vacation rather than do it âon-your-onâ are the side benefits that can take place.
I never read anyone elseâs reviews about the movie I am going to see, lest I be tempted to plagiarize or form opinions ahead of time. I do, however, see the headlines and brief outtakes from others who have seen the film, many on twitter etc. âI have never left a film this awestruck,â was one comment, âlegendaryâ was another, and âjaw droppingâ another.
Two ladies (Diane and Carol) in our neighborhood came up with an ingenious idea to bring the neighborhood closer together. Their idea was to form a supper club. Every few months, Neighborhood 35 would pick a new target and descend upon the restaurant. The inaugural event was held at Port Edward Restaurant in Algonquin.
We are busy with our spring cleaning lists at this time of the year. Winter windows turn into sparkling majesties as they are cleaned to let in bright rays of sunshine. Donât forget to include your grand and mighty task of organizing on your spring cleaning to do list.

The story is a fictionalized account of the life of Annie Oakley, a sharpshooter who starred in Buffalo Billâs Wild West Show, and her on-again off-again romance with sharpshooter Frank Butler.

Out went the Coumadin that kept her blood from forming life-threatening clots. Out went the Neurontin that battled her incessant nerve pain. Out they went, and others â out, out, out. But Jenny paused when we came to the Cymbalta (an antidepressant) and the Xanax (an antianxiety drug). âYou may want to keep these handy,â she said. âYou might need them for yourself for a while.â

On Saturday, March 24, 2018, approximately 200 people from Huntley gathered at Deickie Park to March For Our Lives. They came together to March, chant, carrying signs they made and converse with each other about Gun reform. There were students from our Huntley High who spoke. Teachers spoke. Those whose lives have been touched by gun violence spoke.
